    Rolling out the green carpet

By Julia Anderson 05 September 2015

BEAUTY comes easily to the magical medieval village of Jaujac in southern France. In a fitting optical ode to both nature and the town’s heritage, artist Gaelle Villedary has created a 1500 metre turf carpet, titled “Tapis Rouge,” that showcases Jaujac better than any Hollywood red carpet.

The enchanting green path winds past the town’s ancient stone buildings and natural spaces to the heart of the village. The bio-installation was constructed in 2011 and celebrates the 10th anniversary of Jaujac’s arts and nature program.

Check out a Facebook video of the project here and the artist’s website.
