    SFSC20: Q&A with Corine

    03 November 2019

A little bit of rebel, a big splash of charisma and a whole lot of shimmer – meet Corine, one of the hottest artists to emerge from France right now. Blending style, substance and that very French brand of disco-electronica the world has fallen for again and again, Corine has been clocking up fans. Channelling the glamour queens of the ‘70s and ‘80s, this artist seems to emerge right out of the legendary Parisian nightclubs of the era as she brings her own brand of “erotic disco”. Corinne deals in full-glamour excess and will have the SFSC dance floor up and dancing, there will be no choice in the matter. Here, she talks to us about why she’s so excited to come to Australia and what’s on her summer playlist.

What most excites you about coming to Australia?

Seeing kangaroos and koalas! But seriously, I am always very curious when I play overseas, seeing how the public will react, and discovering new cultures…I cannot wait!

Since it’s your first time playing SFSC, what can Australian audiences expect from your show?

A very French and chic show. 😉

We love travelling and adventures, what was your last adventure and if you could road trip anywhere, where would it be?

My last adventure was in Japan! I played in Tokyo during a festival, it was amazing. Since then, I’ve been dreaming to go back to travel across the country: from the countryside to the mountains.

What are your simple pleasures in life?

    Eating chocolates and reading books.

What is a rule that is meant to be broken?

    Obey your parents.

What is the biggest risk you’ve taken?

I stole a lolly in my village milk bar when I was 9 years old…I still remember it very vividly.

What is the best piece of advice you’ve been given (and who gave it to you)?

What matters isn’t the storm but (learning) how to dance under the rain.

SFSC is all about discovery, can you share three things you discovered lately?

Brittany, surfing and shortly, Australia! It’s my very first time – so it’s never too late!

    What’s on your summer playlist?

    ‘Deception’ by Black Alicious

    ‘Diabolo Menthe’ by Yves Simon
