New Year, New You? You need to meet Lorina

    04 January 2019

This year at So Frenchy So Chic in the Park in Melbourne, we’re delighted to introduce you to our newest festival friend, she’s non-alcoholic and known in France as the “Champagne of Sodas”. Created in 1895 and still a family-run business, Lorina is one of the most historic limonades in France, with a place in many French people’s hearts. It’s a drink used for celebrating and for seeking refreshment on a hot summer’s day.

Like many of France’s most beloved exports, the Lorina recipe is a family secret, passed down from generation to generation. The water used to make this glistening lemonade comes from a spring in the Vosges Mountain and is distilled with a few drops of natural lemon essence and bottled in glass, bursting with effervescence. The ingredients that go into each beverage are carefully selected for quality and taste and preservatives are never added. Each Lorina lemonade is made with pure beet sugar, no GMO’s, no caffeine and no artificial flavours or colours.

We are tres happy to have collaborated with Chocoo in South Melbourne, Lorina’s Melbourne home and a brand that “personifies a fashionable ‘joie de vivre’” and loves French culture almost as much as we do. With Melbourne stockists such as Calia, Le Mille Creperie, Bar Sur Loup, Charisma Workshop and Little Republic Café already helping Lorina’s cult-like status to take off among early adopters in Australia, we are delighted to add this iconic and revitalising beverage to the SFSC menu in 2019, both as an alternative to our festival bars, and as a special treat for all our Francophiles to try and take home as a mixer for their own cocktails (see the recipes below!).

So for all those lovers of bubbles, seeking something that sparkles like the Côte d’Azur, Lorina is not only so Frenchy and so chic, but can be found at So Frenchy So Chic in Melbourne this year. Santé!
